BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS

A. THE TERRITORY

Colony of British Virgin Islands is the most northeastern of the Leeward
Islands in the Caribbean.  The colony is an archipelago of 60 coralline
and volcanic islands, of which 15 are inhabited.  It is a dependent
territory of the U.K. with an internal democratic government.  
Tourism and offshore finance dominate the economy.

B. THE PEOPLE

The population is ~23,500 and official language English.  
~88.8% are African Caribbean, ~6.9% Euro-American, ~4.3% Other (mainly
East Indian).

C. RELIGIONS AND CHRISTIANITY/PENTECOSTALISM

~84.93%  claim to be Christian, ~7.29% Other, ~5.3% Non-religious,
~0.88% Muslim, ~0.85% Baha’i, ~0.75% Hindu.
In the Christian category:
~50.72% are Protestant, ~13.49% Anglican, ~11.8% Unaffiliated, ~3.52%
Catholic, `1.7% Independent.
Evangelicals represent ~27.3% of the population.
Charismatics represent ~9.6% and of those ~5.6% are Pentecostals.
