A. THE TERRITORY
British Dependency of Anguilla is the most northerly of the Leeward
Islands in the Caribbean. While it is a British dependent territory,
there is representative internal self-government.
Tourism is effectively the island’s only industry.
B. THE PEOPLE
The population is ~15,700 and official languages English and English
Creole.
C. RELIGIONS AND CHRISTIANITY/PENTECOSTALISM
~89.99% claim to be Christian, ~4.3% Ethnoreligionist, ~3.45%
Non-religious, ~1.12% Baha’i, ~0.8% Muslim, ~0.34% Hindu.
In the Christian category:
~45.2% are Protestant, ~29.74% Anglican, ~8.5% Unaffiliated, ~5.5%
Catholic, ~1.1% are considered ‘marginal’.
Evangelicals represent ~17.2% of the population.
Charismatics represent ~11.1% and of those ~5.2% are Pentecostals.
